International Trade Enablement Framework

How digital visibility, trade intelligence and access to opportunities combine to support international B2B trade.

Background

The TradeTech Solutions Team brings extensive experience in developing online information services and digital infrastructure for the international banking and trading communities.

Through this experience, we recognised a major structural gap. International B2B trade lacked the type of integrated digital infrastructure that had already transformed consumer markets.

While the B2C digital economy has developed highly sophisticated platforms — such as Amazon, Alibaba, eBay and Shopify — equivalent digital infrastructure for B2B international trade remains fragmented.

Most SMEs still struggle to access practical and affordable digital tools that help them:

  • become internationally visible
  • connect with buyers
  • manage export development
  • navigate cross-border trade processes

Yet the individual components needed to support these activities already exist.

Our approach has therefore been to integrate these components into practical, low-cost, easy-to-use services designed specifically for international B2B trade.

This work has led to the development of:

  • AEODirectory
  • ExportersAlmanac
  • Online Expos
  • Multilingual Microsites
  • Virtual Trade Missions

These services form part of a broader digital trade enablement ecosystem designed to improve international discoverability, market access and structured participation in global trade.

As our partnerships expand and new technologies emerge, these services continue to evolve.

What began in 2017 as a series of individual initiatives is steadily developing into a broader digital trade enablement ecosystem designed to support SME participation in global markets.

Supporting this ecosystem is the Knowledge Centre, which provides practical guidance, reference materials and analytical tools to help SMEs and institutions strengthen their international trade capabilities.

International trade evolves rapidly, and collaboration with businesses and institutions helps ensure that our solutions remain practical, relevant and effective.

If you have suggestions for improving or extending these services, we would welcome your input.
